At times we are not even aware of the stigmas that have been created around us, such as how technology is for ‘nerds’ and is ‘dry’. Or that coding is gender-bias. It is time to break down the walls and see that technology is just another expression of art, that women can both be feminine and kickass ‘hackers’, and that the user experience does not have to follow the expected trends. When Ms. Kotb created iLuminate, those around her did not grasp the concept of why dancers in programmable light suits would be interesting to watch, until she did it. She proudly combined her love for dance with her love to write code and dared to be different. Creating a new form of art, and a new visual experience for audiences around the globe.
